PETALING JAYA, Malaysia - PKR's Rafizi Ramli (pic) has
been arrested at the Dang Wangi police station in Kuala Lumpur over
charges relating to the March 7 rally, while making a report against
1MDB.
City CID chief Senior Asst Comm Zainuddin Ahmad confirmed that Rafizi was arrested at 6.45pm on Tuesday.
SAC Zainuddin said that Rafizi was arrested under Section 9(5) of the
Peaceful Assembly Act 2012 and Section 143 of the Penal Code.
Rafizi had earlier arrived at the Dang Wangi police station at about
3.15pm to lodge a report over the 1MDB controversy, and was expected to
give a press conference after that.
Rafizi is the fourth person detained over the #KitaLawan rally, after
Kelana Jaya PKR youth chief Saifullah Zulkifli, PKR Youth Chief Nik
Nazmi Nik Ahmad and Jingga 13 head coordinator Fariz Musa were arrested
earlier.
The rally was intended as a show of support for jailed Opposition
leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday, which was
deemed illegal by the police.
