PUTRAJAYA, Malaysia - Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak
today said the upcoming discourse to deliberate on Malaysia's new direction
post Vision 2020 will stress on the need for innovation and creativity.
Speaking at the Prime Minister's Innovation Award (APIM)
2015 presentation , he said Malaysia needed to focus on innovation and
creativity in order for it to survive in a very competitive world.
"We are looking at a very challenging world with
uncertainties. The post Vision 2020 discourse must start now and not in the
year 2020.

in the discourse," he said.

The prime minister added the government had taken all the
necessary measures including allocating funds to various agencies that drove
the country's innovation and creativity.
Najib also expressed his hope that all government agencies
would take up restructuring measures to optimize the government's spending by
being more focused and by ensuring there would be no overlapping roles.
