A drunk restaurant manager was eaten alive by three lions at a South African game reserve following a lengthy drinking session with friends.
Jan Friederick Bredenhand, 30, was climbing up a fence pole around the lions' enclosure when the big cats seized him by the legs and dragged him down, The Sun reports.
This is the second fatal lion attack at the ranch, after former owner Lourens van Straaten was mauled by a male lion in July 2005.

- Police believe Mr Bredenhand was drunk and wanted to play with the animals after a party at the reserve.
- Jamiel Jonas, a friend of Mr Bredenhand's, said they had been partying all night.
- "When we got to the camp we saw the remains of his body. Most of his stomach was torn out and his leg had been ripped off." Jonas said
- Some reports claim that Mr Bredenhand was taunting the lions before he was pulled to his death.
- The owner of the privately-run Addo Croc and Lion Ranch near Port Elizabeth, Johhny Janse van Rensburg, had to shoot the animals dead so police could recover the victim's remains.
- Mr van Rensburg said Mr Bredenhand had no business being near the animals. "He was the bar and restaurant manager so he was not involved with the lions," he said.
