KAMPAR, Malaysia - Democracy is more than just freedom of speech, says Malaysian former PM, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad who lamented that laws have been turned upside down.
“If people who are investigating get arrested, and those who
are being investigated can give orders, terbaliklah (should not be the case).
“There should be some

He was at the Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman’s 21st
convocation as a guest-of-honour where his wife Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali was
conferred the honorary Doctor of Medical Science.
Dr Mahathir had mentioned in his blog, chedet.cc, on Aug 10
that "democracy is dead because an elected leader chooses to subvert the
institutions of Government and make them his instruments for sustaining
himself."

“He should read comments made by the people, not from their
own newspaper because their newspaper is directed to praise the Government but
not from the internet.
