SINGAPORE - The man who had boarded a train dressed like a samurai wielding a sword has been identified as a Mr Peter Chua.
The man boarded a west-bound train at Paya Lebar train station after having jumped the fare gate a little after noon on Monday.
SMRT staff had pursued him after he jumped the gate and followed him onto the train.
- When he was confronted, the man apparently became agitated and drew his sword at which point all the people around him carefully backed away.
- The man was later arrested at 12:45pm at Bugis station and police have confirmed that the man is a 39 year old Mr Chua. Other reports on local media indicate that his identity is Peter Chua and he is a sensei at a local Laido club.
