Residents in the Chilean city of Iquique, hit by an 8.2-magnitude earthquake on Wednesday, have been sleeping outdoors, fearing their homes might collapse.
Merchants from neighbouring Bolivia are stranded due to blocked roads. Businessmen and labourers are also struggling to get back on their feet following damage to both public infrastructure and private properties.
