NO MORE EXTENSION ON LEGALISATION OF ILLEGALS IN MALAYSIA?

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - Malaysian Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said Thursday that there would be no further extension of the legalisation process under the 6P exercise after the deadline next Tuesday.
He also urged employees to register their foreign workers for legalisation soon and not leave it to the last moment.
Up until April 4, 70,847 employees had registered their 372,335 foreign workers, who were originally illegal immigrants, for legalisation.
Last year, Malaysia, which has nearly 2 million illegal foreign workers, including Indians, had launched a large-scale legalisation and amnesty programme to reduce the number of such immigrants.
The P stands for six Malay words beginning with the letter which mean registration, legalisation, amnesty, supervision, enforcement and deportation.
