ST. PATRICK'S PARTYING TURNS VIOLENT IN ONTARIO, CANADA

LONDON, Ont. Canada - About 50 police officers in riot gear were called to a blocked street near Fanshawe College in London, Ont., when St. Patrick's Day celebrations turned violent early Sunday.
A mob made up of young people, many believed to be students, pelted officers with bottles and other objects and set fire to a TV news truck that had been tipped over, witnesses on Fleming Drive said.
There are reports that at least one other vehicle in the area was torched.
  • A firefighter on the scene told the London Free Press newspaper that some in the crowd were treated for burns, but it’s not known how serious the injuries are. A few young men were led away in handcuffs, the paper said.
