A dozen people carrying guns have showed up outside a conference hall in Phoenix, Arizona where Barack Obama was speaking about the US wars overseas.
- People carrying weapons at town hall meetings across the US as officials debate Obama's healthcare plan with the public has become a common scene and a show of popular dissent against it.
- A Phoenix Police Detective J. Oliver who, accompanied by two colleagues, was watching over a man with a semi-automatic weapon. Talking to The Arizona Republic Daily, he noted that the man carrying the gun was not violating the law.
- "If we need to intervene, we will intervene at that time," he told the local newspaper.
- Obama's address to war veterans in the Phoenix Convention Center came yesterday as his healthcare plan, known as the "Obama Care" has become a national political campaign.
