Police said Akhil Bhartiya Vidyathi Parisad (ABVP) member Vimal Tomar's death seemed to be suicide but they could only confirm it after the post-mortem examination.
- "He was found dead at his uncle's house. Prima facie, it seems a suicide, however no suicide note has recovered and post-mortem is yet to be done so nothing concrete could be said about the death and about the reasons behind it," Gwalior Deputy Superintendent of Police Niraj Pandey told IANS.
- Tomar, who was state secretary of a student wing, had allegedly along with a dozen others, brutally beaten up Professor H.S. Sabharwal after a spat over elections to the college's student union.
