GOLDEN GATE’S SUICIDE NET DESIGN

One of the world's most notorious suicide spots is a step closer to being made safer.
The tendering process has begun to fit steel netting around San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge.
Thirty-eight people plunged to their deaths from the famous landmark last year.
The $76 million plan for nets made of thick steel cables stretched two stories below the 1.7-mile length of the east and west edges of the Golden Gate will finally end its decades-long  rep  as  one  of  the world’s most
infamous suicide magnets.
