LUCKNOW, India – In a sensational development, scores of dead
bodies were found floating in Ganga river in Unnao district of Uttar Pradesh on
Tuesday.The dead bodies – in various stages of decay – are being eaten by animals and birds.
There is no word yet on how the bodies reached there even as the district administration has begun a probe.
Unnao SDM Saryu Prasad Shukla said, “I’ve received the
information that dead bodies are floating on the banks of river Ganga. I’ve
ordered an investigation into the matter. Last rites of the dead bodies will be
performed soon.”Meanwhile, locals have alleged that district officials have ignored the dead bodies as they do not want to conduct their last rites.
