3 DIE AFTER 3 DAYS NONSTOP WATCHING LATE WORLD CUP MATCHES

BEIJING, China - Three football fans have reportedly died after staying up late at night to watch the 2014 FIFA World Cup, Xinhua news agency reported.
A 39-year-old man in Shanghai died on Sunday after staying up for three consecutive nights to watch World Cup matches.
The man collapsed on his couch while watching the match between Uruguay and Costa Rica.
Doctors said the man known to have high blood pressure had died of stroke  caused by a brain hemorrhage.

  • A 25-year-old man football fan in Suzhou, Jiangsu province was found dead in front of his television at home on Saturday morning.
  • Doctors attributed his death to sleep deprivation.

Another man, a 51-year-old native in Dalian, Liaoning province died after suffering from a heart failure while watching the Holland-Spain match with his friends. Efforts by emergency service staff to revive him failed.
Beijing and Brasilia have a time difference of 11 hours which means Chinese fans will have to stay up through the night to follow the World Cup tournament.
The majority of World Cup games start between midnight and 6 a.m. Beijing time.
