JEWISH COMMUNITY DISTRAUGHT BY ANTI SEMITIC ATTACK IN ARGENTINA

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina - Head of the DAIA Jewish community organization Julio Schlosser condemned yesterday’s incidents at the Metropolitan Cathedral when members of an ultra-conservative Catholic organization disrupted a religious ceremony to remember the Jewish victims of the “Cristal Night.”
“We are distraught,” Schlosser said and considered today’s “must be a day of mourning” for Pope Francis.
“It was shameful and painful that this people attacked and desecrated a holy site as the Cathedral ignoring Pope Francis’ teaching.
I am certain that it must be a day of mourning for the Pope,” the DAIA leader told reporters.
“The Jewish community must remain calm and know that the DAIA is permanently working for the dignity and respect of human rights,” Schlosser added.
Members of the Catholic Lefebvre group interrupted an inter-religious gathering at the Buenos Aires City Cathedral organized to mark the “Night of the Broken Glass” in honour of the victims of the Nazism.
