KUCHING, Malaysia - A 57-year old diehard fan of national shuttler Lee Chong Wei collapsed and died at the coffee shop in Serian, some 60km from here.
Chung Kin Kiat suffered a heart attack after watching Lin Dan defeat Lee in the second set in the London Olympic Games badminton finals on Sunday.
According to eye-witnesses, Chung had been cheering loudly when Malaysia’s top seed won the first set.

- Borneo Post reported that Chung collapsed at 9.20pm after watching Lin Dan beat Lee 21-10 in the second set. Lin Dan went on the retain his Olympic title beating Lee 21-19
- According to sources, the man who suffered from kidney failure had been undergoing dialysis twice a week. His body was sent to Serian Hospital for a postmortem.
- Serian police chief DSP Mohd Jamali Umi confirmed the incident. He said the case has been classified as sudden death.
