SENSATIONAL GRACE LEE OF PHILIPPINES QUIT HER POPULAR MORNING PROGRAM?

MANILA, Philippines - Radio and TV personality Grace Lee, a 29 year-old South Korean working in the Philippines who has been acknowledged as President Benigno Aquino's dating partner, said her emotional state was the reason why she resigned from "Good Times', a morning radio program.
She did not blame her relationship with the president for leaving the popular radio program of Magic 89.9 family.
She confessed that she never consulted Aquino about her decision about her career move, adding she informed him about it only on Wednesday, just a day before she would vanish from "Good Times".
  • "In fact, he doesn't even know that I would be leaving the show up until yesterday (Wednesday). I didn't even tell him up until yesterday. It's funny because I told him yesterday and he was like, ‘Why are you leaving?' He just asked why, and I explained," Lee said. She did not reveal her explanation to him.
  • Earlier, Lee said she saw her relationship with the president as leading to the altar. A source close to her also revealed that Aquino offered her to have a security detail from the elite Presidential Security Group.
  • She was also quoted as saying that she and Aquino would talk for three hours over the phone, but later claimed they would talk only for 30 minutes.
  • Observers said she has been smitten by Aquino, adding that only she among the many women he has been linked with, became too lucky: her radio program became popular; her fee as emcee jumped up; and she received contracts to endorse commercial products.
  • "I realized that our show requires me to be who I am; but lately it's been difficult when everyone wants to twist or put malice into things that I would normally say," said Lee in an email to co-host Mo Twister dated March 6, published by ABS CBN, a TV network, on Thursday when she said good-bye to "Good Times".
In her email, she also said she has been "emotionally struggling," adding, "I realized that at this point in time I'm not capable of handling the format of our morning show."
"The show has given me a wonderful, fun, four years but I believe the time has come for me to exit," she told her co-host with finality two days before she bowed out of "Good Times".
"Of course not," she told ABS CBN when asked if her relationship with Aquino had something to do with her decision to lie low in her career.
