PANAMA CITY, Panama - Police in Panama have arrested a Canadian fugitive wanted in Canada for 22 murders.
Michel Smith, 49, was detained last Friday in the Playa Coronado tourist region, about 100 kilometres west of Panama City.
Local police say in a statement issued yesterday that Smith — an alleged member of Hells Angels — was captured after a two-month surveillance operation.
They say he is wanted in Canada on 29 charges, including 22 counts of murder.
  • The RCMP have been looking for Smith since a massive 2009 sweep in Quebec known as SharQc Operation.
  • He is wanted on multiple charges including murder, gangsterism, drug trafficking and conspiracy.
