TURKEY WILL NEVER ENDORSE ATTACK ON IRAN

WASHINGTON DC, U.S.A. - Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has warned against any attack on Iran, saying it would be catastrophic for the region, Press TV reports.
Addressing the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, DC, Davutoglu said, “A military strike is a disaster. It should not be an option… Especially at a historic turning point in our region, we do not want to see another huge tension.”
“It is not feasible, not reasonable, and we will weigh against it as Turkey. We will never, never endorse any military strike or any military tension, another military tension in our region,” he added.
  • He reiterated Turkey’s support for Iran’s right to have a peaceful nuclear program, saying, “It really is clear what Iran... wants is right for peaceful nuclear technology.”
  • The United States, Israel, and their allies accuse Iran of pursuing a military nuclear program and have used this allegation as a pretext to push through international and unilateral sanctions against the Islamic Republic and to make calls for a military attack on the country.
Iran has refuted the allegations about its nuclear program, arguing that as a signatory to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency, it is entitled to use nuclear technology meant for peaceful purposes.
