COCAINE SHIPPED TO SPAIN MOULDED IN SHAPE OF SHOES?

BASQUE, Spain – Spanish police discovered class A cocaine shipments from Colombia, has been tactically moulded as the shape of designer shoes and gave them to airline passengers to bring into Spain from Colombia. It is the latest and possibly most inventive method of smuggling in the class A drug.
According to a spokesman for Basque police, this investigation revealed that those detained had been bringing in cocaine shaped as women's shoes for two years. The smugglers' version, created from cocaine paste, had a street value of around 50,000 Euros a pair.
  • Police in the Basque country swooped on the gang in northern town of Gorliz on Thursday, following a two-year investigation. Six people were arrested and 4kgs of the drug seized.
  • Spain's proximity to Morocco, a key source of hashish, and its close ties with its former colonies in Latin America, a major cocaine-producing region, have made it a major gateway into Europe for drug traffickers.
