CHILDREN PAY PRICE FOR VIOLENCE IN SOMALIA

MOGADISHU, Somalia - Fighting in Somalia has been raging between government troops and al Shabab fighters in the capital Mogadishu. The World Health Organisation says innocent civilians are bearing the brunt of it.

According to the group, more than 5,000 wounded have been admitted to the main hospitals in Mogadishu so far this year.
The numbers peaked in May when 1,600 patients arrived with weapon-related injuries. And half of those injured in May were children.
