GUNMEN IN PHILIPPINES KILLED 2 BROADCASTERS IN 2 SEPARATE OCCASION


MANILA, Philippines - Police said that a gunman fatally shot Desidario Camangyan of Sunshine FM radio as he hosted a singing contest in the southern Philippines. The gunman flee on foot as shocked spectators found the bloodied broadcaster sprawled on the stage.
Inspector Ariel Nueva said on Tuesday that Desidario died on the spot from a gunshot wound near his right ear inside the gymnasium of Davao Oriental province's Manay township.
  • Camangyan was sitting on the stage when the gunman shot him on Monday night from the back of the stage, apparently through a wire fence.
  • In less than 24 hours, another broadcaster is also slain . National police chief Jesus Versoza has created a task force to investigate the killing in northern Ilocos Norte province of Jovelito Agustin, a reporter and anchorman of local radio station DZJC Aksyon Radyo.
Police said two motorcycle-riding gunmen shot Agustin in Ilocos Norte's capital Laoag City on Tuesday night as he and a nephew were on another motorcycle on their way home to Bacarra township after Agustin's late evening broadcast.
Tuesday's killing happened less than 24 hours after another radio broadcaster was killed.
