HALDEN, THE WORLD'S MOST LUXURIOUS PRISON


IMAGES shows that bedroom windows without grille for prison inmates in Halden, Norway.
OSLO, Norway - Halden Prison in Norway is considered the most luxurious in the world because it is equipped with a bathroom and windows without metal grille and has paintings worth U.S. $ 1.4 million (RM4.4 million), a newspaper report yesterday.
The Construction of the prison costing U.S. $ 22.2 million (RM71.1 million) took 10 years to build and is described as the most humane prison in the world for the 252 inmates.
  • According to some prison officers, all residents are provided with a private room with mini fridge, flat screen television, a luxury bathroom and windows without metal grille.
  • The prisons Architecture , Hans Henrik Hoilund said the prison had also admitted the most dangerous prisoners in Norway.
  • On the same juncture, the prison governor, Are Hoidal said, prison with an area of 30.35 hectares was opened last month and so far no prisoner who has escaped fro that prison.
