KINABALU, Sabah, Malaysia - Some delegates of 23rd Conference of Speakers and Presiding
officers of Commonwealth danced "Sumazau" during a welcoming reception
here.
The Sumazau, a traditional Kadazandusun dance, was led by performers from the Sabah Cultural Board.
Guests were also invited to dance the "poco-poco", a popular line dance.
The dinner was hosted by Sabah State Legislative Assembly Speaker Datuk Syed Abas Syed Ali.
Besides dancing, guests were also entertained by a band.
Earlier
in the morning, there was a Standing Committee meeting before delegates
visited the Mari-Mari Cultural Village in Inanam.
Speakers and Presiding officers of the Commonwealth countries are
attending a two-day conference at
the state assembly today.
