KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - Triad gangs are pooling their resources and merging in
light of the recent major crackdown on gangsters nationwide.
Federal deputy CID director Deputy Comm Datuk Mazlan Mansor said
police had received information that gangs in Sarawak were forming
alliances to create a big gang.
According to Mazlan, they have received information that the Sibu T and Sungai Merah gangs are merging.
“They are feeling the heat of Ops Cantas Khas, currently being
conducted nationwide,” he said in a talk during a forum entitled Society
and Crime.
He said that the gangs could change their names but it would not hamper the crackdown.
