MANILA, Philippines - The Philippines has recently broken a
record set by Turkey last May for the most number of models
simultaneously sashaying on the catwalk.
A record 2255 models strutted on the runway at the Glorietta Mall in Makati City on Thursday evening, tentatively putting the country on the Guinness World Records for the most number of people on the catwalk, reports said.

With the feat, the
Philippines had effectively shattered the record set by Turkey in May
when 1,967 models graced a catwalk in Istanbul.
The show was part of a promotional activity by Ayala Malls, owner of the Glorietta.
Several local celebrities
shared the runway with professional models. Among the famous names that
took part in the event were Sam MIlby, Geneva Cruz, Xian Lim, Divine Lee
and Hayden Kho.
The models showcased creations by designers of popular local and international fashion brands.
Among the most popular records held by the Philippines is in the category of biggest saltwater crocodile.
