38 ARRESTED IN PHILIPPINE FOR SELLING CYBER SEX

MANILA, Philippines - Thirty-eight people, most of them women, were arrested during a raid in an internet cafe in central Luzon suspected of selling cyber sex to clients in the United States and Europe, a local paper said.
"Policemen confiscated on Monday 62 sets of desktop computers, routers, modems, satellite antennae, printer, telephones and other equipment used by Midway 635, at the third floor of a commercial building in Dinalupihan, Bataan," Chief Inspector Rogart Campo, chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Bataan, told the Inquirer.
  • Also arrested were two managers and two shift supervisors apart from the 34 "sales agents". The owner of the company remained at large, Campo said.
  • Majority of those who were arrested were women whose work include posing naked and performing acts before web cameras. Also arrested were men who pretended to be women when they chatted with their foreign clients on-line, Mayor Joel Payumo also told the Inquirer.
Residents started complaining about the activities in Midway, which was registered with the local government as an internet cafe, said Payumo.
Apart from conducting surveillance on workers at Midway, police officers posed as agents to get clients for Midway in Olongapo City and Angeles City, base of many foreigners in central Luzon, Payumo said.

  1. I thought the police should focus on real criminals like murderers and robbers.
If a woman wants to use web cams to earn money, what is wrong with that??
It is definitely safer than really having real sex with a customer
    Which is better ??
To have no jobs and no money to feed the family??
Or to use the web camera to bring in some income???
Here we have people who are so innovative and are able to bring in money using the internet and the police have to destroy every money making venture that the people want to try
People start an internet web cam chat business to provide employment for unemployed girls
The police raid the business and lock up the job provider for life
Another business man starts a club
The police raid his club and charge him for human trafficking and maybe another kind hearted guy who provide jobs to philipinos may get sentenced behind bars for life for providing jobs
The police claimed that they rescued the girls
Actually the police just broke the rice bowl and only means of liveihood of the girls
I think the girls would rather not be RESCUED
No wonder unemployment is so high in the Philippines as the job creaters are constantly being charged with crimes like cyber sex and human trafficking
The police should realise that the job creaters are the real friends of the filipino people
The radical feminist and human rights activists that pressure the law makers to pass the human trafficking laws are the real enemies of job creation and the real enemies of the filipino people
