US President Barack Hussein Obama, in his news conference today, has renewed hope to have direct talks with Iran.
Obama stressed on 'mutual respect' between the two countries in order to make 'openings' for imminent negotiations with the Islamic Republic.
Iran says it is ready to cooperate with the US to tackle problems facing the world if it sees 'true and correct changes' in US policies.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to welcome true and correct changes by the new US government and cooperate to resolve major global problems in a fair and mutually respectful atmosphere," Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said.Obama stressed on 'mutual respect' between the two countries in order to make 'openings' for imminent negotiations with the Islamic Republic.

President Ahmadinejad said that the world's status quo has provided some 'bullying powers' with an appropriate opportunity to 'change their behavior'.
"Today the use of power in global relations unacceptable; arrogant powers should accept the rights and requests of the great and civilized Iranian nation," Ahmadinejad said.
The US and Iran do not have diplomatic relations. United States cut its diplomatic ties with Iran after the 1979 Islamic revolution that toppled the US-backed monarchy in Iran.
The Swiss embassy has represented US interests in Tehran since Washington severed diplomatic ties with Iran after the takeover of its embassy by revolutionary students.
