Peace remains in danger everyday from today to till the day the western world will decide that it has had enough of the bullshit of creating wars that it cannot stop nor can it win. Yes, to tell you the whole truth, the war on terror is yet to be won by the west and such a terrible war that they will never win.Nevertheless, peace still need to be won and it will only be established and the mission to bring peace to the world will only be accomplished when the war zones become 'negotiation' centres and when the 'Mujahid' and 'Hamas' fighting for their country is given recognition that they too is looking for 'peace' in order to live his life and give his family a good life.
The world need peace. We need less wars and more negotiations, more understanding of each other's needs and realities. With globalization, we are not heading towards a peaceful world but instead we are facing the greed of some dark forces and collusions as well as clashes of civilizations are inevitable. At the onset of the 911 events, the US regime informed the Pakistani regime that the world had changed, history had begun and the US will deal with the Pakistanis as it is dealing with the Taliban – that is conquer and rule! Peace was faltering with the extremists in the US regime confirming their positions and grabbing power in the military circles as well as the different levers of governmental power. War against terror in the name of 'peace', launched haphazardly and with the confidence that the US will win outright, failed.
Yet peace too suffered deeply with tens of thousands of Muslims (there is no shame in saying that Muslims became the victims of the war on terror and were directly oppressed as such) suffering death, maiming and life time scars that will probably act as catalyst to future reactionary wars against US-Western interests.
" Many Muslims are afraid of speaking, of defending their beliefs and of associating themselves with the fighters who are dying and striving hard to represent the cause of Allah. It became a crime, since 911, to be called a 'Mujahid' while it became a reason to be jailed in Guantamo like prisons across the world if one were to 'defend' Islamic beliefs.
War became the method not the means to destroy a civilization. At least, the George W. Bush regime – which is now deeply into the dust bin of history – tried to tell the world that it could get rid of the Muslims according to his whims and fancies.
The situation in Gaza today reflected the western world ideology on peace . A mission and a promise that means to be broken.
